The Milton Keynes Education Trust has commissioned Milton Keynes based speech therapy specialists Magic Words to provide speech and language therapy service on a 1:1 assessment and therapy basis for children, and adolescents. Their service can offer specialist therapies including The Lidcombe Program, The Listening Program, Makaton, Talk Tools, smiLE Therapy among others.

Magic Words therapists are working with MKET schools in the early identification of children’s SLCN. Magic Words provide written bespoke reports that have supported school staff, as well as parents, in how best to support the children and they are more than willing to model SLCN activities to the individual school’s LSAs - which has been very well received. Having Magic Words therapists in school on a weekly basis, has meant that a greater proportion of children have been supported with their varying level of need, than if we had used an alternative agency. The value that their service adds has been invaluable – without it the Trust schools would be unable to provide the high level of quality support that Magic Words have helped to develop.

I have nothing but praise for Claire, the Speech Therapist from Magic Words who has been supporting our children and Teaching Assistants at Kents Hill School.  She is extremely efficient and professional.  She has assessed children as soon as we have had permission from parents and has personally fed information from her assessment  back to them on the same day.  All reports have been quickly returned to me, with detailed information and clear targets to enable us to support the children.  Claire has also supported our Teaching Assistants in their role, modelling and advising on how to support the children with their speech difficulties.  All the children that Claire has been supporting have made good progress.  It has been a pleasure to work with Claire and I look forward to continuing to do so.
